The brand-new $99 magnetic power bank charges compatible devices wirelessly and, uniquely, receives power the same way, offering travelers a route away from cable clutter.

Portable power banks have removed one familiar anxiety from travel, extending the battery life on your phone by several hours. But so-called “wireless” devices have failed to eliminate the tangle of cords that follows most people on the move: through airports, hotels, and conference halls. Even a wireless power bank has to be charged using a cable.

MAGFAST describes Passport 5K as the “world’s first truly wireless, snap-on power bank with wireless magnetic charging in as well as out.” It adds a level of convenience that changes how the power bank itself fits into your daily life.

Wireless Power in Both Directions

At a desk, Passport 5K rests on a compatible magnetic charging pad until needed. From airport to convention to hotel bedroom or hotel reception desk, all that’s needed is a charging pad or a stand like MAGFAST’s highly specified Air Pro (the only device in the system that needs a cable). Because Passport receives power wirelessly, any cable is usually hidden from view; now you can charge your phone without cables snaking across your desk or kitchen counter, grab and go as you run out to a meeting, and you can even stack two Passports together to double the extra battery capacity.

Passport carries a charge of  5,500mAh — close to double the capacity of some other devices claiming 5K — and provides a fast-charge 25W magnetic wireless output. It also supports 30W USB-C charging in and out, giving users a wired alternative when device compatibility demands a cable.

Passport 5K accommodates all modern Android and Apple portable devices, and can even provide a useful battery boost to your laptop.

Built for Everyday Handling

Small design choices can determine whether a power bank becomes part of an everyday carry kit or sits forgotten in a drawer. Passport 5K uses an aircraft-grade aluminum frame intended to provide durability, while its full-surface silicone grip makes for easy handling when attached to a phone or retrieved from a crowded bag. A custom LED color screen displays current charge status.

The product sits in the mobile sector of the company’s charging lineup. While the $299 Air Pro charging stand serves as a high-end desk charger, the $99 Passport 5K is positioned as its go-anywhere counterpart for commutes, flights, conferences, and walking down the street.

Longer Battery Life, Not Just Fewer Cables

Passport 5K incorporates Iontra Extended Life Technology. MAGFAST states that it can extend battery life by up to two to three times compared with standard power banks; the underlying claim has been verified by UL Solutions and a U.S. Department of Energy lab. That benefit concerns battery longevity — not to be confused with a separate promise of faster charging.

The company also states that it will plant one tree for every Passport 5K sold, extending MAGFAST’s long-standing commitment to the environment.

Its central proposition is clear. Passport 5K is a power bank of a new kind, in a new class. It’s truly wireless charging. It’s higher capacity in a small form factor. It’s longer battery life. It’s sexy, with a nifty color screen and premium finishes that match the rest of the range. And it’s part of an integrated system of MAGFAST charging devices. Passport 5K is currently available for preorder at $99, with a series of special-offer bundles. Shipping is scheduled for Q1 2027.
